Palletline, the UK’s leading palletised freight distribution network, has joined forces with The Multibank, the nationwide charity which is fighting poverty by building a sustainable economy that redirects surplus goods to families in need across the UK.
Established in 2022 by former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, The Multibank has already delivered more than five million goods to families, benefiting more than 500,000 children.
Palletline was also chosen as the official logistics partner for Amazon’s “You Buy. We Donate.” campaign for The Multibank. Through this exciting initiative, Amazon and its vendors donate one essential item for every two sold across selected product lines. Palletline is responsible for providing essential logistics services to ensure these vital donations reach those in need.
The campaign, which ran throughout January, focuses on delivering hygiene products to vulnerable communities. Palletline’s Coventry Hub will receive and store around 500 pallets of donated goods, which will then be distributed to the charity’s six key locations across the UK.
Palletline’s involvement with the Multibank began at its inception, with Scottish member Purvis Transport playing a pivotal role in establishing the charity’s start-up location in Fife.
The partnership demonstrates Palletline’s commitment to supporting this worthwhile charitable initiative across the UK with the company also handling other donated surplus stock from Amazon and other charity partners throughout the year.
To further support The Multibank and to assist its ability to efficiently manage the donated goods, Palletline has donated two forklift trucks to its sites in Middlesbrough and Swansea and a third has been earmarked for its Birmingham location when it launches this Spring – a commitment of approximately £100K.
Palletline is also providing forklift training for charity personnel and conducting comprehensive health and safety audits at the charity sites to ensure efficient and safe operations. Palletline’s forklift truck partner Linde Material Handling UK has provided its support to ensure a smooth transfer for each of the FLT donations.
Graham Leitch, Group CEO, Palletline commented: “Our partnership with The Multibank serves as an excellent example of the impact collaboration can have on our local communities.
“Getting involved with The Multibank initiative was an easy decision for us, the work they are doing to help improve the lives of people up and down the UK is outstanding and it’s an honour to be part of such an important movement.
“By working alongside Amazon and The Multibank, we are ensuring that essential items reach the most vulnerable people and families, and we’re committed to doing even more in 2025.”
Palletline’s dedication to supporting communities goes beyond logistics. The company is planning additional fundraising events and initiatives throughout the year, further demonstrating its commitment to making a tangible difference.
In partnership with companies like Palletline and Amazon the Multibank aims to meet the needs of families living in poverty across the UK, plugging the gap to help:
- One million children who are without a bed
- Two million children who go without soap or shampoo
- Three million children who are forced to go without a meal every month
