Forsyth Black joined the Palletline Board in 2023 as the first independent chair for the organisation, introducing an independent and dynamic way of thinking to bring a fresh perspective to the network.
He is a Chartered Management Accountant, holds a BA in Accounting and an MBA and has a portfolio career which includes Chair of Glasgow Prestwick Airport, a Board position at the Port of Aberdeen, and he leads a small boutique advisory firm working predominantly in mergers and acquisitions for aviation, security and logistics clients around the world.
Trevor is a founder member of Palletline and joined the Palletline Board of Directors in 1998. He is now an advisor to his two children who run C.S. Ellis on a day to day basis, as Trevor is increasingly more involved in property and warehouse construction.
Trevor has worked in his field of expertise for 42 years having held roles as Chairman of Palletline Plc, Chairman of the UK Transport Association and County Councillor for Rutland (portfolio holder for Transport and Planning). The highlights of Trevor’s career so far are having his two children running the business, taking the family business through its third generation and handing it onto the fourth generation and finally having the privilege to serve fellow hauliers in a collaborative partnership which he hopes to have done to their satisfaction.
Outside of work, Trevor enjoys travelling, including driving to his house in the South of France, maintaining vintage cars and trucks including a car from 1899, and all types of car racing and listening to all genres of music (a frustrated rock star at heart).
Ken is a founder member of Palletline and has been on the Board of Directors from the very beginning. He is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and strategy of John Hackling Transport. Ken has worked in his field of expertise for over 40 years, having previously held positions as Managing Director of Palletline Distribution, Chairman/Vice Chairman/Company Secretary of Palletline and Director of The Hazchem Network.
The highlights of Ken’s career so far have been taking his father’s beginnings forward and seeing the company develop and grow from a small regional haulier into a warehousing, distribution and property company employing approximately 180 people. Also being a founder member of Palletline, playing a continuous part in the development from its inception through to today and watching it grow and thrive. Finally, nurturing his children into the company and watching colleagues develop.
Outside of work, Ken enjoys spending time with his family, watching his children and grandchildren flourish, travelling and walking in the Cotswolds.
Peter joined the Palletline Board of Directors in 2009 and has overall responsibility for Treasure Transport; the majority of Peter’s time is spent concentrating on developing the business. Peter has worked in his field of expertise for 14 years, prior to becoming involved in logistics Peter was a qualified Solicitor specialising in Employment Law.
The highlight of Peter’s career so far is the significant growth that Treasure has seen over the last 14 years including becoming a Member of Palletline, establishing an IBC Laundry, the blending and distribution of AdBlue, warehousing and now commercial property.
Outside of work, Peter enjoys spending time with his two daughters and enjoys going to the gym, cycling and racing.
Pete joined the Palletline Board of Directors in December 2015 and is responsible for the overall network and IT service at Anglia Freight as well as Depot Principal activities for both Palletline and the Hazchem Network. Pete has been working in his field of expertise for 11 years, having graduated from university with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Pete joined the family business where he progressed through the ranks and has tackled virtually every job within the business from Shift Supervisor, Freight Forwarding Manager to Sales Director.
The highlights of Pete’s career so far are succession planning, transiting through a period of change resulting in a second generation of leadership, bringing in IT solutions which have resulted in cost and time savings and continuing to aggressively grow the business and achieve targets in line with the business plan.
Outside of work, Pete enjoys spending time with his young and active family, maintaining and riding bikes and being the World Champion at Long Range Target Rifle Shooting.
Peter joined the Palletline Board of Directors in 2018 and is responsible for the company direction, key accounts and is the overall decision maker for Miniclipper Logistics. Peter has worked in his field of expertise for 34 years, having held a position as Depot Manager for United Carriers before joining Miniclipper as a Director for both Sales and Operations.
Peter also ran an associated company, Western Clipper, based in Plymouth. The highlights of Peter’s career so far are developing a small business from £1 million turnover in the early 90’s to projected £14 million this year by steady generic growth and winning multiple awards – Motor Transport Partnership Award in 2013, UKWA Warehouse of the Year Award in 2016 and the Palletline Integrity Award voted by Palletline members in 2016.
Outside of work, Peter enjoys a variety of activities including playing water polo for Milton Keynes and Dunstable, being a season ticket holder at West Ham and spending time with his family.
Jonathan first joined the Palletline Board in 2005, and was originally responsible for overseeing Health and Safety at the Palletline Hubs. He stayed on the board until 2020, when he stepped away in order to manage an ownership change in his own business. Jonathan rejoined the Palletline Board in 2023.
Jonathan is owner and decision maker for Edge Transport Limited and has worked in Transport and Logistics since 1996, covering a variety of roles from traffic planner through to Managing Director. The highlights of Jonathan’s career so far have been developing his father’s business and seeing the company develop, as well as managing a move to new purpose built depot in 2015.
Outside of work, Jonathan is a grassroots football coach and, in his spare time, likes to spend time with his family and keeping fit.
Ed joined the Palletline Board of Directors in 2023 and is the Commercial Director at Stephen Sanderson Transport. Since joining the business over 19 years ago as a second-generation family member – Ed has worked his way through every department. Today he oversees all the Commercial and Strategic elements for the company.
In 2014 Ed joined the Palletline Membership Management Committee and has been the Chairman of this group since 2015. The highlights of Ed’s career so far have been the creation and continued development of the companies warehousing function, the securing of major logistics contracts which have resulted in a period of significant growth for the family business and winning the Haulier of The Year Award at the 2018 MTA Awards.
Outside of work, Ed enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys; going to the gym and is an avid supporter of Rugby Union side Leicester Tigers.
Graham joined Palletline as Group Managing Director in January 2015. Previously he was on the group board of Palletline member ARR Craib heading up their distribution business, which included the Palletline operation.
Graham’s specialism is network distribution and he has over 30 years’ experience in the Logistics and Transport industry. He has held directorships with a number of high profile companies covering various market sectors including publishing and network road freight. His remits have been both operational and commercial ranging from managing a group of regional newspapers to running a large national and European distribution hub.
Outside of work, Graham is a keen cyclist and has a huge interest in anything related to cars.
Glenn joined Palletline in April 2015 as Head of Strategic Development and was appointed Network Director in May 2016. Glenn is responsible for the strategic relationship with Members which includes risk management, retention and recruitment. He has many years’ experience in transport and pallet networks ranging from running his own business as a member of a network to senior management roles in the sector.
The highlight of Glenn’s career since joining Palletline has been the recruitment of a significant number of new members to the network enabling the reduction in caretaker costs.
Outside of Palletline Glenn enjoys spending time with his young family, taking them to watch his favourite football team (Sunderland) and has recently completed an overhaul of the garden at his home.
Paul joined Palletline in May 2019 as Managing Director of Palletline Logistics. He has over 20 years’ experience within Logistics and Transport based companies, specialising in operational and general management within large scale operations.
During his career Paul has worked in a variety of roles and industries including Network Distribution, Third Party Logistics, Hazardous Waste and Fuel Distribution.
Outside of work Paul enjoys spending weekends with his two sons, Adam and Josh. As an Arsenal supporter he’s finding more time to improve his cooking skills, get back into running and develop his DIY skills on the house he has just moved into.
