About Transaid:
Transaid is an international development organisation that transforms lives through safe, available, and sustainable transport; empowering people to build the skills they need to transform their own lives.
•Transaid's Access to Healthcare programme provides means of transport for health workers to visit pregnant and newly delivered women in rural communities as well as supporting ETS (Emergency Transport Scheme) drivers and equipment with bicycle powered stretchers which can transport them to a clinic in an emergency.
•Transaid's Road Safety programme is helping to provide training for passenger and goods vehicle drivers across Africa, helping to reduce road deaths (the third biggest killer in Africa after HIV/AIDS and Malaria).
About the challenge:
After visiting one of Transaid's programmes in the capital Lusaka, the team will be undertaking a 490-kilometre ride over 5 days, taking on dirt tracks, across undulating terrain, passing through tiny villages and open bush, finishing at Victoria Falls.

Katie McCann - Ghana Project
We would also like to say a special well done to Katie McCann an employee of PF Whitehead who is currently in Ghana for 4 weeks with ‘Projects Abroad’ helping to build a classroom. Katie is working in 32-degree heat, making the bricks from scratch and digging the foundations. Katie saved £3,000 of her own money to take part in the project - fantastic work Katie!
