Palletline Announces 2009 Roll of Honour

Palletline Plc announced the top performing Member Companies for 2009 at the annual Awards ceremony held on 27 February, 2010.

Winning the coveted and hotly contested Depot of the Year Award for 2009, rewarding excellence across the board including exceptional levels of customer service, flexibility and consistency, went to Wrexham-based Edge Transport Ltd.

Success in this category is awarded based on voting from peers within the Palletline network, and underlines continued dedication to performance and quality. This family-owned business has been consistently in the frame at the Palletline Awards over the years, winning the top award no fewer than six times since 1992.

"To be voted Depot of the Year again – based both on our performance over the past 12 months and on a vote of confidence by our colleagues – is an achievement that speaks volumes about the team doing the real work here at Edge," stated MD Jonathan Edge.

It was a close-fought contest, and runners-up well worthy of mention included Manchester-based Global Logistics Ltd, our colleagues from Yorkshire Expect Distribution Ltd and Gloucestershire-based John Hackling (Transport) Ltd, who all put in a sterling performance and were only just pipped at the post!

Following on from the Depot of the Year Award, the New Member Company of the Year Award - identifying the best newcomer of 2009 based on a range of criteria including customer service levels, delivery service provision and overall helpfulness - went to Rochdale-based Leach Distribution. This proved a popular decision, recognising how smoothly the business has adapted to the Palletline operational principles and how committed the team has proved to ensuring the success of the partnership going forward.
