Palletline Announces 2009 Roll of Honour

Palletline's Annual Awards are designed not just to reward the organisation's top performing depots, but also to honour high achieving individuals working within the Palletline community.

One of the most important awards of this year's event was the Palletline People Award, sponsored for us this year by Xclusive Recruitment. Voted for by the entire Palletline community, this Award reflects Palletline's focus on the vital human element of the service we provide, and is given to an individual based on his or her commitment to the real spirit of our network.

The Award went to Finance Director Ruth Moor for her unswerving contribution both to Palletline and to the ongoing commercial successes of its individual Member Companies.

These are challenging financial times, and many of the Member Companies voting for Ruth praised her encouragement, support and sound knowledge as key factors in their ongoing operational successes. The Award also recognises Ruth's contribution to the many challenges facing Palletline during 2009 and the role she continues to play in taking Palletline forward – a real accolade to her commitment.

This year, Palletline's Board of Directors have also presented the Exceptional Contribution Award. Although this Award is not made every year, it is occasionally conferred to honour an individual within the network who has over many years made an exceptional contribution to its ongoing success.

The winner is a true pioneer of the road transport industry - one of the 'brave few' who started Palletline over 18 years ago. He has consistently supported every aspect of Palletline's development over the years, building a highly successful rural transport business around the Palletline model.

His company has been the winner of Palletline's quality award in previous years, and it is even rumoured that some years ago he personally jumped in a vehicle and delivered a pallet that had been misrouted to his depot on Christmas Eve rather than have it fail its delivery.

This year, this very personal Award went to Dave Marris from Caistor Distribution Ltd in recognition of his services to the Palletline network over almost two decades.
