It looks like an insurmountable challenge – transporting fragile eggs through a pallet network whilst maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and minimal damages.
It’s a real tribute to the processes in place at palletised distribution specialists Palletline Plc that they have now been achieving just that for over four years now on behalf of Newport-based Country Fresh Eggs.

Commenting for Country Fresh Eggs, Jenny Spearing explained the background to this unusual contract. “We operate our own fleet for local deliveries, but increasing demand and new business from national customers led us to look for a cost effective and reliable method for transporting our produce safely and economically to their Regional Distribution Centres,” she explained.
Initial discussions with Alan R Jones led to the decision to trial products thorugh the Palletline network. “Conventional egg packaging is designed to safeguard the eggs well during normal transportation procedures,” said Jenny. “Recognising the way the pallet network environment operates, we began by introducing extra protective packaging above and beyond our standard to ensure safe transit. However, it quickly became evident that this was not necessary, and that the high quality handling processes evident throughout the Palletline network presented very little risk to the products.”
