New Chairman for Leading Pallet Network

Palletline plc, the UK’s longest established pallet distribution network, has announced the appointment of Trevor Ellis as its new Chairman from 25th January.

Trevor is a Director of C S Ellis (Group) Ltd of South Luffenham, near Oakham in Rutland, which has been a Palletline member since 1994.

He takes over from Ken Hackling, of John Hackling (Transport) Ltd of
Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucestershire, who has stepped down to focus on the increasing demands brought by the growth of his own business interests, but will remain on the Palletline board.

Bob Rushworth, Company Secretary of Palletline plc, commented: “Ken has done an excellent job in presiding over a period of significant change for the business which has seen substantial investment in improvements to our main Birmingham hub and state of the art IT systems.

“The business has continued to improve both financially and operationally in his time as Chairman which is a huge testament to both his ability and commitment. Although the Board is sorry that he had to step down, we are very fortunate to have someone of Trevor’s calibre to take over the role.

“Trevor has many years’ experience in the industry as well as having been a Palletline member for more than a decade. He has the full support of the Board and our nationwide membership, and we’re confident that he will continue the excellent work of his predecessor to maintain and enhance Palletline’s position as sector leader.”

Ken Hackling added: “I would like to place on record my appreciation to the Board for its help and support, and also to the hub team for continuing to achieve excellent results during a period of re-investment and enhancement to our core services.”
