At a glittering business awards gala evening, Wrexham based Edge Transport beat off rival transport and logistics businesses from around the UK to win the highly acclaimed 2006 Palletline Depot of the Year Gold Award.

Palletline plc is the country’s longest established pallet distribution network, with the exclusive annual awards open to national network members recognising service excellence, delivery performance, volume level throughput and year on year individual improvement.

The Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire was the venue for the prestigious event which was hosted by Palletline’s Managing Director Glyn Jones.

“As you’d expect, the judging criteria for the awards are extremely tough and thoroughly test our network members and their staff in every category,” he said. “All the winners, including Edge Transport, continue to set the exacting standards customers expect from our pallet distribution network. As the leader in the field, we continue to set benchmarks for others to follow. The awards recognise overall excellence in service, which is at the very heart of our business ethos.”

Director Jonathan Edge believes winning the award is just reward for the hard work and dedication of his entire team: “We're delighted to win such an honour, especially given the quality of the other Palletline depots. This award is testament to the hard work and dedication shown by all our staff.”

• Palletline (London) – Most Improved Depot of the Year
• Expect Distribution (Halifax) – Inputter of the Year
• Benn Laverick (Birmingham) – Palletline Hub Employee of the Year
