Founded in 1954, Treasure Transport Services employs 50 staff and operates more than 30 vehicles. It is investing in three new vehicles and five new staff to deal with the extra freight generated through its membership of Palletline.
As well as general haulage services, which are primarily supplied to the building and construction industries, Treasure Transport Services specialises in tanking work for many major national breweries.
Peter Greenhalgh, Managing Director of Treasure Transport Services, commented: “We moved to a new purpose-built site a couple of years ago and were looking to expand our operations to offer an even more comprehensive service to our clients. We looked at a number of networks but Palletline were the only one who offered the right combination of a local postcode area and a similar working ethos to our own.
“Quality of service is clearly the key in networks, as other members are carrying your freight, and the calibre of Palletline’s members is, we believe, first class. We were also attracted by the unique set-up where, along with other members, we will own an equal share of the Palletline business.”
Glyn Jones, Managing Director of Palletline plc, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Treasure Transport Services to the Palletline network. They are a highly professional operation working with a number of blue-chip clients and will prove a valuable addition for us.”
