Further Strategic Appointments at Palletline

Palletline plc, the UK’s most experienced pallet distribution network, is making two further strategic appointments within its senior management team.

Kevin Buchanan, who joined the organisation in January as General Manager, Commercial Development, has been promoted to the plc board and will be taking over the responsibilities of Managing Director Glyn Jones, who is stepping down after three highly successful years to pursue other interests.

Meanwhile, an appointment to the new role of Operations Director will be announced in the very near future.

These appointments reflect the organisation’s drive to build on its market-leading position through strategic member recruitment and volume growth while maintaining Palletline’s renowned service levels.

Kevin was previously Managing Director of the International Moving Company, a major multi-site commercial removals company, and has also held senior management positions with Allied Pickfords and Wales-based TWT Logistics Group.

Since Glyn Jones joined Palletline in 2004 the company’s trading performance has improved steadily achieving a pre-tax profit in the most recent financial year of more than £1.1 million. Membership is at its highest ever level with 65 member companies, while pallet freight regularly exceeds 8,500 per night.

Glyn Jones commented: “The organisation has a very sound base on which to build for the future. Operationally, great strides have been made, while I believe that the calibre of Palletline’s membership is the highest in the sector, standing it in very good stead.

“I’ve greatly enjoyed my time at Palletline but have now decided to move on and look forward to pursuing new challenges elsewhere.”
