A bit of Monkey Business at GA Newsome's!
What better way to spend a summer Saturday than raising money for The Stroke Association by swinging through the trees in
Sponsored by Palletline and a host of suppliers, friends and family, an intrepid team from Wardle-based G A Newsome (Haulage) Ltd took on the challenge to Go Ape at this award-winning high wire forest adventure course of rope bridges, tarzan swings and zip slides, all set high up in the tree tops with splendid views over Lake Linmere.
Going Ape included braving tasks such as climbing trees, sliding across high wires, crawling through tunnels, crossing swaying rope bridges, walking the plank and returning to earth via huge zip wires!
David Miller, Gareth Broughton, Julie Wilson, Darren Wynne and James Nankivell raised a total of £1,196.00, making the team from P47 the highest contributor to the Stroke Association on the day. Since then, additional donations have raised the total to £1,230.00 and growing, spurred on by David’s decision to cut his blond locks short in exchange for further cash for the charity!
Great fun was had by all, although David admitted it was a real challenge for him as he doesn’t like heights!
Congratulations to all involved.
